Wintry and Heartfelt

Hello and Welcome back to a Wednesday of inspiration from Heartfelt Creations! Today is my last post for Heartfelt Creations.  I cannot believe how fast 6 months has gone!  I have so enjoyed working with the team and with Heartfelt Creations' gorgeous products.
I have two cards to share today; The first is a wintry Thinking of You card.

To create my background, I used the tops of the trio of trees from the Magnificent Spruce Trees set.  I I stamped in white craft ink around the edge of the background paper and then heat embossed with some wonderful Stampendous 'Frantage' embossing powder.  Dry embossing vellum gave a wonderful look and texture to my next layer.  I added lots of die cuts and bling to finish my card.
My next card uses Heartfelt Creations wonderful new flower die, Sweet Juliet~

I used a sketch from Cardabilities for this card.
Complete instructions can be found at the end of this blog post.  There is more amazing inspiration on the Heartfelt Creations blog from the uber talented Design Team.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Quick CAS and a Contemporary Christmas

Hello Friends!

It is that time of year when the holidays just roll, one right after the other.  Halloween is in one week and I made this quick CAS card after being inspired by this week's Featured Stamper on SCS, Mary-Alice.

This is about as scary as it gets in my house!  No gore or ghouls for this girl!  A little free hand doodling and a paper pieced spider from the Buggin' Ya Stamp Set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps and you have a cute Halloween card!

Christmas is just 2 months away!  Between now and then there will be shopping, baking, decorating, and, of course, Christmas cards!  There is no time like the present to start those cards!

I used this wreath from the Seasonal Wreaths set to create a contemporary Christmas card.  I always admire the sleek and shiny wreaths made out of glass ball ornaments.  When I saw this image, I saw the potential to create a glass ornament wreath.  I stamped the image in Versamark and embossed the wreath with silver ep.  I stamped it again in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the bow with Copics and then colored in the wreath with red and pink Copics.  I used the matching die to cut the images out.  I found a scrap of dp that I just love- it is one of those papers that I really wish I had stocked up on!  I added a strip of brushed silver cardstock and a cardstock border sticker to the dp and then finished it off with some Doodlebug twine and a pink button.
I continued the 'sphere' theme by mounting my wreath on a circle die cut and using a piece of cardstock embossed with dots as the background for the card elements.

That's it for me today;  I hope I have inspired you to stamp!

Have a blessed week!

Heartfelt Hyacinths

Hello Again, and Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Inspiration Wednesday!
Today's card uses an image that was just perfect for a technique I had been wanting to try- coloring with mica powder.

These flowers reminded me of springtime hyacinths, so I wanted to color them purple.  To make  the flowers pop, I used mica powder from QKR Stampede on black cardstock and adhered it using Sticky Powder, also from QKR Stampede.  The process is very quick and easy.  Taking a picture of it, on the other hand, is hard!

The Delicate Asters Paper Collection was perfect for this image and the colors I used. The sketch is from Cardabilities~
Complete instructions are at the end of this blog post.  You can find more gorgeous inspiration from the talented Design Team on the Heartfelt Creations blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

A Look Back in Time

Hello Friends!
Today I thought I would take a look back at one of the first cards I made last January for SCS Dirty Dozen.

I found this wonderful stamp from Serendipity Stamps.  The theme for the month was "Dirty Laundry" so this stamp was perfect!

The dresses were stamped in Stazon Brown and  watercolored with reinkers and an aquabrush.  I wanted a vintage look, so added a little brown to all of the colors. The image is backed with a piece of Naturals Ivory paper, then onto a piece of Whisper White that was scored all around with the Simply Scored Tool (SU).  The card base is Crumb Cake.  Some wonderful ivory lace and a Very Vanilla seam binding bow (SU) highlight the sentiment, which was fussy cut out and adhered to the card with dimensionals.  A Stampin' Up Vintage brad in the center of the bow finishes off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Heartfelt in Green

Hello, and welcome to another Inspiration Wednesday with Heartfelt Creations!
Today I have a quick and easy card to share with you that uses the wonderful Blessing to Me Precut Set from the new Sweet Juliet Collection.  I love all things natural including botanicals and greenery.  This set was perfect for highlighting just that~

I went for a clean design and kept the colors to a minimum so the green would really shine.
Used the kraft paper and pieces of burlap to add to the natural feel of the card.

Going PINK with Z Becky Brown

Hello Everyone!
I have another Z Becky Brown purse liner to share with you today, and this one is in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Can you guess what color the purse is?!

This purse liner is all about sponging!  I was running low on MOJO, so headed over to Pinterest, and this is what I found~

I free handed a stencil for the mountains and started sponging.  I did not have quite the right color for the sky, so had to settle on a combination of Pumpkin Pie, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral.  The mountains are Razzleberry and the foggy look was done by sponging Whisper White Craft Ink over the mountains and sky.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Have a blessed week!

Z Becky Brown Debute

Hello Friends!
I have exciting news to share with you today; I am a proud member of the Z Becky Brown Design Team!  Z Becky Brown makes a fun and unique style purse that you can customize yourself, using your favorite crafting supplies, be it stamps, mixed media or fabric.
My first purse was made with a wonderful background stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps that I stamped multiple times over my entire purse insert.  I used several different mediums to color the poppies.

I started with watercoloring the poppies with Stampin' Up's Poppy Parade reinker and an aquabrush.  Then I wanted to go back in and hightlight areas with Prismacolor Pencils.  I ended up using the pencils a lot more than I had planned!

To make the flower centers, I used a blender pen to add a mixed media black ink then added black ep and heat embossed.  I used a gold pen to outline the veins.

That is it for me today; stop by Wednesday when I will have another Z Becky Brown custom inert posted!  In the meantime, check out the Design Team Gallery on the Z Becky Brown site

Have a blessed week!

Heartfelt Sweetness

Hello and Welcome to another Heartfelt Creation Inspiration Wednesday!
We are pleased to introduce the Sweet Juliet Collection. This collection is inspired by the beauty of ancient rooms locked away and laden with antique treasures. These rooms are filled with yellow candlelight and dusty vases. Crinkly letters lay scattered around, turning crisp and fading more every day. A postcard lays covered in thick dust, forgotten in a dark corner. Wildflowers lay around, as crisp and crinkled as the beautiful wallpapers. Using these detailed floral and typographical stamps, complemented by black, gold and burgundy papers will enable you to create an outstanding classical creation.
Leave a comment on the Heartfelt Creations blog by October 15th and you will be eligible to win the entire collection valued at $150.

These gorgeous blooms seemed just perfect for coloring with Prismacolor Pencils.  I stamped the image several times, some with masking, colored and then added the circle sentiment.  So easy and yet I think it packs a pretty good punch!   For detailed instructions check out the bottom of this post.
For more amazing inspiration, check out all of the work by the talented Heartfelt Creation Design Team on the Heartfelt Creations blog.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Repeat on the other already stamped flower sprig. Color the images with Prismacolor pencils. /stamp the large circle sentiment image in Lucky Limeade and again in black ink. Die cut out the entire Lucky Limeade image with a circle die; die cut the center of the black inked image with a smaller circle die. Sponge the Lucky Limeade circle with Pear Pizzazz ink; color the black circle image with Prismacolor pencils.
Assemble-adhere rectangular white cs with flower images onto dp mat. Wrap baker's twine 3 times around mat assembly and tie off to the left. Twine should be offset from the center of the card just a bit. Adhere the large circle sentiment with dimensionals as shown. Adhere the smaller circle on top of the larger circle with dimensionals. Stamp sentiment on white cs and die cut out with large tag die. Tie to white baker's twine and make a bow. Add bling as shown.

Design Team Favorites

Hello Friends!
This week we are sharing Design Team favorites over on the Sweet 'n Sassy blog. I have 3 cards for you, one with layers and one very CAS, and a last minute card, all made with my favorite set, New Beginnings~

I just love how the black portions of the butterflies really help to make them pop on your projects.
I used one of Chupa's sketches to jump start my MOJO-

I colored my butterflies with Copics and die cut them out with their matching dies.  The sentiment is framed with a frame from the Decorative Frames set. The horizontal strip of paper has a sweet little flourish from the same set, stamped on it.

And the CAS card~

This card I actually made to honor our very own, Susie, who was BOTH Queen for the Day and Featured Stamper at SCS this past week.  Yeah for Susie!  She is so very talented.  Be sure to stop by her blog and give her a little love!
I have used a single butterfly here and layered a die cut and a piece of canvas to anchor it.  I am not very comfortable with single layer cards, so I added the black line around the edge of the card to define it a bit more.  Bermuda Bay ink is sponged on the die cut to give it more depth.

And the last minute addition- this card was made for the Featured Stamper challenge today on SCS-

I die cut a Top Note die and then embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper ef.  I trimmed the die cut so that it would be offset on the card and flush with the edge of the white mat.  Next,  I lightly sponged Crumb Cake ink onto the die cut.  I then lightly sponged Baja Breeze over the Crumb Cake sponging.  Using a brayer, I rolled Smokey Slate ink over the raised areas of the die cut.  I then sponged on some more Baja Breeze to the top 3/4 of the die cut, followed by some Midnight Muse to the very to portion of the Top Note die cut.  Just below that, I added a little bit of Island Indigo and then blended the colors together with more Baja Breeze ink.  Lastly, I rolled more Smokey Slate ink over the raised areas.
The butterfly was stamped and die cut out with the matching die, then colored with Copics.  Lastly, I masked off an stripe along the right side of the mat and first sponged a light layer of Crumb Cake, followed by So Saffron.  I removed the mask and move it over about 1/2 inch and lightly sponged a stripe of S Saffron.  A little bit of linen thread finishes this card.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a blessed week!

Vintage Christmas Collage

Hello Everyone!
Can you believe it is October already?? Christmas is less than 3 months away;  I have been busy making Christmas cards with the fabulous new releases from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

There was really no plan for this card other than the fact that I wanted to play with my DecoArt Dazzling Metallics Splendid Gold Acrylic Paint again.  I applied a couple of light layers of this paint to white cardstock and let it dry.  Then I stamped off with the Music Background stamp and stamped onto the gold background.  I clear embossed this background. Since there was not a lot of ink on the image as I had stamped off once, coverage with the ep was spotty at best, adding to its shabby chic look.  The embossing kept the ink from smearing when I used the embossing buddy on the background before stamping the tree.  Ask me how I know!  ;)
The tree was stamped in Versamark and embossed with Early Espresso embossing powder.  The star was stamped in Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder.   I added the 'Silent Night Holy Night' words because of the song Silent Night; I thought that fit well with the Music Background image.  The sentiment is also clear embossed.
The rest was simple-embossing on Naturals Ivory cs, a scalloped edge, an Early Espresso edge to the image panel and a big brown bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by; your visit is much appreciated!

Have a blessed week!
