Boo to You!

Hello Everyone!

and this week it is all about fall~

I used a sentiment from the Spook-tacular Sentiments set for my shaker card.
I used my Spellbinders dies and a MFT stitched rectangle die to make the mats and the shaker window.  The sentiment is heat embossed with black ep and the shaker is filled with
various seed beads.

A New Challenge!

Hello Everyone!

Can you believe it is the end of August already??  Where did the summer go?  We are back in school already and once again, stamping time is my down time in the evenings.
I love a good challenge and play in as many as I can.  There is a NEW challenge starting up and you can find it on the Skipping Stones Designs Blog.

Our very first challenge is all about Christmas!

Yep, I made a very traditional Christmas card.  The stamp set used is called 'Christmas Labels'.
I stamped the image in black one white cs and and sponged some green ink around the sentiment;  then I stamped over the frame again with Versamark and heat embossed it with gold.  It was then fussy cut out.
The image was again stamped in Versamark, this time on Real Red cs and the banner portions were heat embossed with gold embossing powder.   I also embossed the doily with gold ep.
The challenge will be the last Friday of every month and will run for a week. We will be challenging you to sketches, colors, inspiration, and themes; whatever strikes our fancy! One random person will win a Skipping Stones Design stamp set of their choice and each of the design team gals will be sharing their favorite card for the week. Skipping Stones Design Stamps are not required, but highly encouraged...we want to be inspired by you too! Please tell all your friends about our challenge and invite them to play along. Challenge will end on Friday, September 4 at 5:00PM EST. If you are on social media sites use #skippingstonesdesign and #stampandshare and if you upload to Splitcoaststampers use the keywords ssd and skippingstonesdesign. We would love to visit and share some love with you!
I am linking up to Merry Monday-' Red, Dark and Light green'.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!  Hope to see you at the Skipping Stones Designs Stamp and Share Challenge!

Mynn calls her challenge the Pony Case-Press.

Spook-tacular Stuff!

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

It is hard to believe the summer is coming to an end and that fall weather will be upon us soon.  I do love the fall though, and all that comes with it, including fall colors.
I used a Kraftin' Kimmie sentiment from the Spook-tacular Sentiments set for this not-so-spooky card.

This was just plain fun to make.  A complete tutorial, with photos, is on the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog.
Pop on over for all of the details!
I am linking up to Inkspirational for their word prompt, as the technique involved melting embossing powder to apply it and again melting embossing powder to remove it~

Another Freshly Made Sketch Celebration

Hello and Happy Friday!

Well, we made it through the first two days of school.  I love that we start with a 2 day week and can ease into the whole 'back to school' thing!
I finally broke out another new and never used stamp set from Altenew.  I had this idea brewing in my head for the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  If you haven't heard, they are celebrating their 200th sketch!

So, normally when I use Wink of Stella, you cannot see it in the photo.  Today I have the opposite problem.  The speckly look is actually the shimmery Wink if Stella.

Here is the sketch~

And the colors are from Colour Me...!~

I am also linking up to Altenew's inspiration challenge.  I was inspired by the lacey florals around the cake.  I did add pink color to my flowers to match the magnolias that we have here in St Louis.
I stamped my Magnolias in Versamark and clear embossed them.  They were then colored with Peerless Watercolors.  Once colored, I ironed off the embossing powder and then masked the flowers and stamped the branch from the Vintage Flowers set.
I penciled in a line and then fussy cut the flowers for an 'outside the box' look.
A friend of mine's daughter is getting married in  a couple of weeks and the wedding will be at our gorgeous Missouri Botanical Gardens here in St Louis. Here colors are include silver and light pink.  I thought this would be a perfect card for the occasion!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a relaxing and blessed weekend!

Watercolor and a Sketch

Hi Everyone!

I crafted  this evening to relax as tomorrow is the first official day of school and it is sure to be crazy for me!
I just received some new goodies from SugarPea Designs- thank you, Wendy!  When I saw this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, I immediately put my new stamps and die to good use.  By the way, FMS is celebrating their 200th sketch this week; stop over and congratulate them and join in the fun!  Congrats to you, Lesley!

Here is the sketch~

I started by die cutting my watercolor paper.  To color, I layered on Peerless Watercolors.  I then die cut two more pieces from scrap cardstock and adhered them to the bottom half of the watercolored piece.  This gives the card a bit of dimension.  I had been waiting for the perfect card to use the sweet heart charm and this card was is it as it is going to my mom and dad.

I am also linking up to Sugar Pea Designs Challenge 19- 'Summertime Sweetness'
and Papertake Weekly-To 'Die' For

Vintage Bouquet

Hello and Happy Sunday, Everyone!

I had every intention of working on home projects today, but with a headache and the knowledge that the school year starts this week ( hmmm, are the two related?), I have decided to have some fun instead.  That meant stamping, and with my parents anniversary coming up this week as well, I set about making their anniversary card.

I finally got around to using a new to me Altenew set; I was inspired by the flowers and colors in the new photo at Curtain Call~

I also was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  I did initally have a small banner on the card, but it ended up morphing into a black strip of cardstock.

I am also linking up to Less is More-'Congratulations', as this is a congratulations on my parents being married 62 years!
I am also joining in on a new to me challenge, Friday Mashup-  'Summer Flowers',
As well as AAA Cards- 'Masking'- my flowers were masked to give the perception of layers.

I finished off the card with some gold thread, a W Plus 9 sentiment and die, as well as some pearls, which I think add to the vintage look.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

For the Sketch Saturday sketch~
Also linking up to Fab 'n Funky- 'Things with Wings' and Addicted to Stamps and More- 'Make Your Mark'.

I finally got around to inking up the now famous, Crazy Birds stamp from Tim Holtz.  I fussy cut the image out and added it to a panel stamped with the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Birthday Word Art Stamp Set.   I added a bit of texture to the card base with a Stampin' Up background stamp and finished off the card with Crystal Effects on the bird's eyeballs.  :)

Kraftin' Kimmie's New Release Blog Hop!

Yippee!

The new August release is now available and that means you can get your hands on all of the Halloween goodness from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!  Love the whole release?  Kimmie has a special that you can get HERE!
I love the kiddos in the You're a Scream Stamp Set; I couldn't wait to ink up this little 'bot.  He brings back memories of childhood and all of the fun of homemade Halloween costumes!

So when I look at this cutie, I see Kleenex boxes on his feet, cardboard boxes spray painted silver, tin cans and Solo cups!  Yes, red Solo cups for the 'ears'!  :)
He is colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  I used a piece of craft metal and pulled out some ancient brads to add to the metal idea.
I used the MOJO Monday sketch~

I even added a little tree lined street that this little guy could walk along.  Brings back memories!

Embossed Sympathy

Hello Everyone-

This is my second post of the day; if you are looking for the Kraftin' Kimmie Sneak Peeks Day 4, click HERE.
I used a background I made for the Online Card Class, Background Check, for this simple Sympathy card.

I used a technique of Lauren Bassen's- ombre embossing paste- and kept the colors soft, maybe a little too soft, as I wanted to use it for a sympathy card.
I added a vellum circle and a diecut from my brand new Savvy Dies and then embossed the sentiment in silver.
The sketch is from MOJO Monday~

I am also linking up to Just Us Girls, 'vellum'

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!

One More Sneak Peek of a Kraftin' Kimmie Halloween!

Hello!
I am so excited!  This is our last day of peeks before the release of the
 August Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!
Todays's peeks are of the adorable kids in the 'You're a Scream' Stamp Set~

So, I had sooo much fun with this card!  Can you tell?! hee hee!
I colored this lil' mummy with Copics and fussy cut him out. I added a piece of gold thread to the
trick or treat pumpkin as a handle.

The diorama was created using the Top Dog Dies Our Home Album and Finishers Die Set.
Cutting everything in black,  adding crooked gutters to the house and hanging
the shutters in a crooked fashion turned this home into a haunted house!
The ghost is just fussy cut from some ancient Cloud 9 patterned paper.
The bat is also a Top Dog Dies die, the Halloween Trio Die Set.

I am linking up to Addicted to Stamps and More- 'Anything Goes'
And Fab 'n' Funky Challenges- 'No patterned paper'

All of these amazing Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps will be available tonight!
We hope you can join us for the release party at 6pm EST, HERE on fb.

And don't forget to leave a little love at each stop as one lucky hopper will
win some Krafty Kash to spend in the KKS store!

Casting a Spell on Day 3 of Kraftin' Kimmie's Release Peeks!

Hello Again!

Day 3 of our Kraftin' Kimmie Release is for the witches, LOL!  2 of them, to be exact, from the set 'My Best Friends are Witches'~

While difficult to see, this card actually uses the August KKS sketch.  I turned the sketch 90 degrees and then made a few more modifications regarding the banners to better accomodate the image.

She is  colored with Copics, as is the background.  Truth be told, I usually do not 'do' Halloween, so this was a toughie as I had no Halloween embellishments etc.  I did find one ancient pad of seasonal paper with Halloween, so I put it to good use!  The green goo is from a Martha Stewart punch.  Die cuts are Die-Namites, Knobby Branch die. I used Wink of Stella on the flames and added gold rhinestones for more sparkle.

Ready for more inspiration?  Check out what the rest of the Design Team is sharing!
Don't forget to leave some love at each blog as one lucky hopper will
win some Krafty Kash to the KKS store!
Also, please join us Saturday for our Release Party;
you can find us HERE on fb, starting at  6pm EDT.

Kraftin' Kimmie's August Release Day 2

Welcome back!

It is Day 2 of sneak peeks for the August Kraftin' Kimmie Release. Today are peeks come from the soon to be released, A Treat For Someone Sweet.  And it is so so sweet!

This little cutie is just one of 3 images in the set.  I used 3D paperpiecing for this little one.  She was colored in Copics, some areas getting stamped and colored twice.  The poodle 'fluff' was stamped on white felt and fussy cut out.  All colored pieces were fussy cut out and then layered up.
I did not want to get too creepy with this cutie, so I settled on banners in pink and then some more traditional Halloween colors of purple and orange.
I am linking up to Addicted to CAS-'banners'
As well as Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- Tie it Up.

Ready for more inspiration?  Don't forget to leave a little love on each blog as you hop along; one lucky hopper will win krafty kash for the KKS store!

Happy Hopping!

OLCC Background Work

I have been taking the Online Card Class, Background Check, and have really been enjoying reviewing old techniques and learning new.

I love embossing paste and have colored it with ink, but have not done an ombre effect with it.  I tried it with very soft colors as I would like to use this background for a sympathy card.

Have a great week!

One Layer Wreath

Hello Everyone and Happy Hump Day!

Today I took a break from working on my kitchen and family room overhaul and decided to give a couple of challenges a try.

I fell in love with the newest colors from Colour Q ~

I also spotted a card at Muse that I found very inspiring; I have only played that challenge once so I thought I would give it a go.  I have had this stamp since PTI released it and had yet to use it.  I am so uncomfortable with cards that are this cas.  But I was so inspired at Muse, that I felt I could do it.
This is also a one layer card (OLC) so I am feeling pretty good about this!  LOL!
I added a few bitty seed beads for just a bit of bling, and if you couldn't tell, also to cover up the oops that occurred, of course with the last image stamped.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

It's Halloween with the Kraftin' Kimmie August Release!

Hello!
Can you believe we are talking Halloween already!!??  Yup, the new
Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps August Release is all about October!
Today's peek is another of Becky's amazing sentiment sets- Spooktacular Sentiments, to be exact~

I combined a couple of techniques here.  The watercolor look is many layers of ink and, of course, water.  The image was stamped in Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.
When the inking was complete, I used the 'iron off' technique on the sentiment.
I am entering this into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, 'Tie It Up', as I have used Hemptique twine on this card.
There are so many awesome sentiments in this set, 8 to be exact~

Ready for more inspiration?

As you hop around, be sure to leave some love at each stop
as one lucky commenter is going to receive some Krafty Kash to the Kraftin' Kimmie Store!

Skipping Stones Design Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome back to our second day of Skipping Stones Designs inspiration!  To celebrate the reopening
of Skipping Stones Design, Heather is offering free shipping to everyone!
Gotta love free shipping!
Today I have a sympathy card to share- I know- not the most pleasant of cards,
but I seem to need more of these than anything else.
The sentiment and the GORGEOUS butterfly are from the Healing Wings
Stamp Set.  I think this image has a wonderful  stained glass look to it.  I thought it was
perfect for a monochromatic, soft look.

I kept the design simple, focusing on the center panel, which is popped up on dimensionals.  The image is colored with Copics and the sequins- my fave- are from Simon Says Stamp.

I am entering this in the challenge at Casology- 'Wings'
as well as Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- 'Anything Goes'

Skipping Stones Designs. Yes!

Hello Everyone and Welcome to the
Grand Re-Opening and New Release for
Skipping Stones Design Blog Hop!

Skipping Stones Design has been around since 2005; about the time I got into stamping, Heather, the owner, had to take time off from the business.  She is back now and better than ever!
Here we go, first Christmas card of the year!

Heather has already put together some brand new stamp sets, including this one, Joy, and you will get to see lots of gorgeous creations using them.  I love silhouettes of reindeer, and this one with its swooshy flight path had me at 'go'! I have stamped him in Delicata Golden Glitz Metallic ink.   And, you can easily dress this image up or down.
As I have used a die and an embossing folder on this card, I am linking up to The Divas that Cut Challenge- 'Favorite Holiday'.
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is 'Anything Goes'.
House of Cards has a cue word this month, 'Metallics'.
Hop along and leave some love!  There is a $25 store credit up for grabs!!!
